Is my salary data uploaded anywhere?
No. The sheet is read, calculated and printed inside your browser tab. Nothing about your employees or their pay is sent to Merik or anyone else. Only if you choose to leave your email for a reminder do we receive that email address.
How is loss of pay (LOP) worked out?
Each absent or unpaid-leave day counts as one unpaid day and each half day as half. Loss of pay is the monthly earnings multiplied by unpaid days and divided by the number of days in the month. Someone who joined or left during the month is paid only for the days they were employed.
Which attendance codes does it understand?
A, AB, UL, LWP and LOP are unpaid; H and HD are half days; P, PL, CL, SL, EL, WO, WFH and HOL are paid. If your sheet uses H for holidays, there is a switch for that. Any other code counts as paid.
Does it calculate PF, ESI, professional tax or TDS?
No. Statutory deductions depend on state, wage ceilings and tax declarations, so the tool takes them from your sheet as you typed them and never guesses. Add PT, PF, ESI and TDS columns with the amounts.
What if my sheet has no daily attendance grid?
A column with LOP days, paid days or days present per employee works too. The tool detects which one you have, and you can confirm the columns before anything is calculated.
Is it really free?
