What Merik is

Merik is an all-in-one platform for small and growing businesses — typically 5 to 200 people. In one workspace it covers employee records, attendance with geolocated check-in, leave and work-from-home, monthly payroll and payslips, a daily task log with proof and blockers, clients, projects, quotes and invoices, hardware and software registers, and monthly performance reviews.

It also includes Digital Operations: outside-in monitoring of the websites, web apps and APIs you run — per client, if you run client properties — with early warnings, incidents, SLA reports and status pages. Agencies and studios are the reason both halves live in one product: the same team that has to be paid on the 1st has client sites that have to stay up on the 2nd.

Why it exists

Most small businesses run people operations on disconnected tools. Attendance is a spreadsheet or a chat group, leave is an email thread, payroll is a template someone re-types the month into, and tasks are wherever the last manager left them. Every month the same numbers get keyed in three times, and every dispute comes down to whose copy is right.

Merik's premise is narrow: capture each fact once, at the source, and let everything downstream read it. An employee's check-in becomes a present day; approved leave updates that day; payroll reads the month; the payslip shows the days. Nothing is re-keyed, so nothing drifts.

How it is built and run

• Payroll is computed on the server, never in the browser, so the record and the payslip cannot disagree.
• AI is optional, off by default, and only ever drafts text for a person to edit.

Who it is for

Small and growing businesses in India first — the product speaks in INR, CTC structures and Indian leave and holiday conventions — and any team elsewhere that runs the same way. It is a fit for agencies and studios, offices and back-office teams, field and multi-site teams, and remote or hybrid teams. It is not built for enterprise payroll departments, and it does not file statutory returns; it produces the register your consultant files from.
