Comparison for agencies

Merik vs Zoho One for a 10–50 person agency

Zoho One is a full business suite with 50+ apps. Merik is one workspace for the daily running of a services team: who came in, what they worked on for which client, what that client was billed, and whether their website is up. Here is where each one fits.

The short answer

Choose Zoho One if you need statutory payroll filed for you, a CRM, full accounting and native mobile apps, and you are ready to license every employee.

Choose Merik if your real problem is knowing what your team did each day and for which client, you also look after client websites, and you want it running this week without a per-employee bill.

Use both if you want Merik's daily record and Zoho Books or your CA for accounts and filings. They do not overlap much.

What a 15-person agency actually pays

Zoho One's all-employee plan is priced per employee and requires a licence for everyone on payroll, including people who only need to mark attendance. At the September 2026 India list price of ₹1,800 per employee per month billed annually, a 15-person agency pays about ₹27,000 a month. Zoho also lists a flexible-user plan and a newer Essentials plan; neither showed an India price when we checked.

Merik is free to start with no per-employee charge, so the same 15 people cost ₹0. The one paid option today is guided setup around your existing data. See pricing.

Price is not the whole picture. Zoho One includes a lot that Merik does not, below. If you would use those apps, its per-employee price buys real software.

Using Merik with Zoho

Many small teams do not need one system for everything. A setup that works for a 10–30 person agency:

Moving from spreadsheets or Zoho People

Request a workspace and we create it for you. Copy your staff list from Excel, Google Sheets or a Zoho export and paste it into Merik's employee import; names are enough to start. Run one month in parallel before you switch anything off, and cut over at a month boundary so payroll has a clean start. Our 30-day migration plan walks through it.

Questions

Is Merik cheaper than Zoho One?

Today, yes. Merik's workspace is free with no per-employee charge. Zoho One's all-employee plan licenses every employee on payroll; in September 2026 its India list price was ₹1,800 per employee per month billed annually, about ₹27,000 a month for 15 people. Check Zoho's pricing page for the current figure.

Does Merik do statutory payroll like Zoho Payroll?

No. Merik builds the monthly salary sheet and payslips from attendance and leave already recorded, but it does not compute PF, ESI or TDS or file returns. Many small teams hand Merik's register to their CA, or run Zoho Payroll Free (up to 10 employees) alongside it.

Can I use Merik and Zoho together?

Yes. A common split is Merik for attendance, the daily work log, client hours and site monitoring, with Zoho Books or your CA for accounting and statutory filings.

Does Zoho One include website uptime monitoring?

Not as of 27 October 2026. Zoho's monitoring product, Site24x7, is not in the Zoho One app list and is sold separately. Merik includes uptime and response-time checks for your own and your clients' sites.
